Mr. & Mrs. save the date...what a lucky couple a gift from the new mother in law. 300 count ivory pillowcases embroidered with the paisley and chocolate brown text, love these! My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary and personally I think any couple who makes it past 20 years should get a new wedding shower to replace all the things you get the day your married...I think we should start a trend!

Hootenanny Birthday Parties & Brides

My o my the shop is busy busy busy with brides and birthday girls, here are examples of what has been made before and now are being done again with orders coming in! Love working with the burlap sashes they are fun and I think a nice keepsake for a birthday girl.

Country Girl Tuesday: Birthday Girl get's more than she asked for!

There is a commercial out now about some guys who go for "any old haircut will do" and get disastrous results. I personally love it when a customer is struggling with what they would like and then I get the go ahead to do "whatever I think is cute". This ETSY customer started out with just wanting a birthday sash with the text you see embroidered...well I just got in burlap sash material (it's all about the burlap for weddings this year!) and immediately thought of this for her sash. Yep I got the green light to surprise her...Man I hope she loves it!

 making closures is sometimes the biggest challenge, but also the funnest YEAH GLUE GUNS and sticky pins!

Mitten Monday Funday: graduation sashes!

 Here is the newest sash made this week for some happy families who are celebrating graduations from High Schools and Colleges all over the US. 

On a personal note we celebrated with our family here too our daughter in law graduated from Nursing school this weekend and here is a picture of our supportive son and the new nurse!

Education is the most valuable thing anyone can have and I wish everyone the opportunity to get as much as they can anyway they are able, be it through work or on your own you will never regret it.

Thriftshop Thursday: My Ragnar Fix

Oh how I loved the Vikings show this last season...being that I love Nordic designs I thought that this $1.00 number in Ultra Suede was begging for some Norske embroidery designs. Probably the hardest thing to work with as it has really no give to it. Was careful not to pull it in the hoop and did not use any topping so the design did not have to be soaked in water after finishing. Just a hue over the fabric itself in color for some nice impact. Sometimes less is better!

Wedding Wednesday: Redneck Couture Pillow Cases

Well now everyone needs a fresh idea for Wedding or Shower presents now don't they? This was my idea for something for the bride and groom to put on their new bed. This customer requested them on pillowcases but I am going to also offer them on pillow shams as this would be much easier to upkeep on the bedding and....easier to maintain in the laundry when needed.
